I have a 1992 GT with mac long tubes, spin tech x, and mac dumps all 3in. i have a 6al box with a fresh tune up.. and some suspension mods.

I ran my car with the dd tires.. nothing done to the car at all.. here is my best run

60'...2.286
1/8...9.724
mph...74.71
1000...12.532
1/4...14.997
mph...94.10

is this average for a mostly stock 5.0?? i came from 4v motors so i'm ignorant when it comes to the times on these cars....

absolutely not.l think something is amiss here. That is a kinda high time for that car.

Well hold on. does it have gears? and its a five speed correct?

My completely stock 88 with street tires and 3.73's and flowmasters welded in. stock h pipe and
k and n filter.
She ran about 99-100 mile an hour and would click off 14.2's consistanly.
And i was running 2.1-2.2 60ft times

threw the slicks on and she dropped four tenths almost a half a second. I ran two back to back 13.8's and the mph lowerd to about 98.
and i was breaking 1.8 60ft's.

This was with a 130,xxx mile suspension and engine and trans. Oh and even on my bad runs where i got a bad shift or strecthed out a gear to far (you know just experimenting to see what worked best ) i still wasnt running slower than 14.8's

You need to get the 60ft down to 1.9-2.0 and you'll runs mid 14's.

i'd expect more mph as well....my old 89 with full exhaust trapped 98-99 and my current 95 loaded up trapped 100.5 with just bumped timing, hpipe, catback. You should atleast be trapping 96-97 especially this time of year...what are you shifting at?

All stock 5spd's run mid 14's.
Aod's run high 14's--low 15's.

The L/T's and the 3in exhaust is not helping the cars MPH. He has no supporting mods that would require 3" exhaust. Go down to shorties, 2-1/2" exhaust and I bet it the MPH will increase....or keep the exhaust and add HCI blower/nitrous.

How experienced are you? I've heard of guys running low 14s in factory trim, but you know how "i heard" goes. That's about on-par with what i've personally seen in a true stock 5.0 Mustang. Have you done any of the free stuff like bump the timing?

My buddy's '87 coupe is totally bone stock except for a Tbird 8.8 with a 3.73 gear, and on street tires he ran 14.7, and he's a really good driver so i don't think there's anything left in it. That was with a 2.0 60...couldn't manage any better with the tires he has.

If this car is an auto, and judging by this quote in your sig, it is...

LOOKING FOR A C6, C4, OR MANUAL TRANS FOR MY 92 GT AND THE MANUAL PEDAL

I would say your right on par. My car when it was an AOD was knocking off low 15s at barely over 90 mph. Added some mods and high 14s was at it would do until I started getting into things.

i'm planning on hooking up a 100 shot of wet and see what happens... but over the winter i'm planning on getting my motor rebuilt so by next spring i will have the supporting mods.

Do you have a timing light? It's extremely simple and might even drop a tenth or so off your ET.

Since it's an automatic, i'd say you're doing pretty good (i thought that was 5 speed times). How do you shift? Do you know about the "1-2-1 shuffle"?

I wouldn't just jump in and say do a 5 speed swap, but i am biased towards 5 speeds, i just think they're more fun. However, with a shift kit and the right torque converter an auto can be lots of fun.
