Hey everyone I could use you input, since I am at best a novice.
I have a 1990 Ranger that I rebuilt the 302 in that I converted over three years ago. Here's the setup.
Stock bottom end
gt40p heads stage 1 port
Crower 15510 cam 212 duration .531 lift
1.7 Rollers
Aod tranny with TCI valvebody and 2600-2800 stall converter
570 Street Avenger Holley carb
Sanderson headers 1 1/2 primaries/ dual 2 1/4" pipes to converters / balance tube after converters / Flow Master Mufflers 40 Series / dual 2 1/2 pipes out the back
3.73 gears
This combo just does not seem as strong as what I thought it would be.
Timing is set at initial 10 degrees with 42 degrees coming in at about 2600 rpms.
Is it possible that the 1.7 rockers are giving to much lift should I go back to 1.6 rockers? Or is the carb not big enough, I have a 4160 also I did not think it would that much gas though.
Any thoughts ?
