My Sierra Cosworth

Hello Gents

I didnt know where to post this so i am doing it here. I bought this car is Germany and brought it to Vancouver Canada. It is a 1990 Ford Sierra Saphire RS Cosworth. 2.0 liter 16 valve Turbo, engine dynoed at 273HP at 1psi of boost (fresh engine cant put lots of boost to it yet)

anyways i just wanted to share some pictures.

My 5.0 Stang is also being built up and i'll post some pics of that later.

Finally a 4 cyl turbo worth mentioning that has a blue oval on it Thats some serious hp, now go smoke some civic's please.

You'll have to pardon my ignorance... is it the white car or the red car that is the 4 banger 270 HP car?

...and did you say you made 270 HP with ONE psi of boost?

WOW, nice man. I *****in LOVE THOSE cars.

I've been thinking about importing one lately as well. I was wondering what it cost you by the time the thing was landed etc. I live in Calgary so it would probly be approximately the same price.

Whats done to the engine to make it produce so much power with 1 psi of boost. They are only like 235 hp stock are they not?

Engine spec is:

Standard crank but knife edged and balanced, Bosch 803 injectors,, chip. Cometic 3-stage head gasket, Cosworth 20 pistons, cosworth I-beam rods. head is ported and polished. stock cams

Keep in mind that this engine only produced 230 HP in factory trim due to the fact it was detunned for sale to the public. You can easily take these engines well over 600hp.

The car looks kinda cool... It's certainly nice to see something different for a change. As is my nature, I had to go out and look around a bit and find out what a Cosworth is. It appears that there are forums allot like this one for the Cosworth and I came across this one:

Dammit - I wanted to be the first in Canada to import a Cossie I was going to get a Sapphire with the basic mods...these things make 500HP so easily it's amazing. For those who don't know how:

-RS500 intercooler
-803cc injectors
-T35 turbo
-ECU chip
-3 bar MAP sensor
-Wastegate
-Cams (not all that necessary)
-Fuel pump

Then just crank the boost to 30 psi and you're set. Cosworth makes amazing engines..you don't even have to open it up to do 30 psi.
