my speedometer is off

the previous owner of my car didnt say that new gears where installed but my speedometer consistantly reads about 5 mph faster than what i am going. could anything else throw this off? i have never had a 98 before so could it just be a weak sending system. anyone else have this problem for a year close to mine?

5mph is no big deal. just drive it. does it have white face gauges? could be the needle was not put back on correctly after installing them.



edit: i just saw the other thread that shows this thing has glo gauges. i am 95% positive that the gauge needle was not put back on properly after installing the new gauges.

it has indigo gages. im not worried about it. i was planning on leaving it but i was just curious what could have thrown in off.
