Went to California Speedway on saturday with my 98 gt.
quick info. Temp: 80 degrees. Elevation: a little 1000 ft if im correct.
Mods to my 98:
BBK:Throttle Body (75mm), Plenum, Cold Air Intake, Shorties
Mac: O/R X pipe with spintech prostreet weld-ins
Ford Racing 3.73 gears
Mcleod racing clutch.
Nittos
took out everything from the trunk (i even drained my radiator fluid to gain that weight advantage, jk)
and one aggressive ass tune by GTR HIPO from Rancho Cucamonga

i got three passes in, i probably could have gotten more, but i was dead tired by my last run, and i wanted to get some sleep before i went out for the night, but here is the time. For those who have never been to caldrags, you'll pretty much wait all day to get three passes, so, for practice, on the way down there, i did my own practicing on the back roads, i think that helped a little. But here is my second run, and my time.

reaction: .318
60' ft: 1.899
1/8 mile: 8.784
1/4 mile: 13.51
Trap Speed: 104.19

LOL, i forgot my biggest mod above. For those who do not know, my 98 GT is PI Swapped

Also, I want to thank Mark for his help, it was funny cause I asked for some drag advice almost the same time his corvette assured ford rear ends are the best ( Im jk mark)

and for curiosity, my other 2 runs were 13.8 (first run) and 14.0 flat ( i fell asleep at the light)

Good job Mazen. That is a nice 60ft. Hope I helped out a bit in the PM. Yes, Ford rear ends rock!

Also, you reaction time will not effect your et. You can sit after green for 30 seconds and still make a 13 second pass. Your time only starts when you launch and the beems catch your wheels.

thanks for the imput man,
and the crazy part is, i still feel i have room to improve, I only wish i had a set of stickier tires to launch that mofo like demon from hell, and hopefully ill head to the track when its a little cooler. Some sticky tires, 60 degree weather, and more practice...im really hoping for a better time.

What was the overall DA? You can search it on google or one of the weather sites at the hour that you ran your pass. Your elevation is not too high, but you can still see a decent DA even at that elevation.

Get your exact elevation, humidity, air pressure, and temp. Plug them in and see where it was during your runs.

There are a lot of calculations that will tell you what you should run at sea level. I don't hold a lot of stock in them, cars vary, boost, NA, Nitrous, HP, tractions, etc

It just seems that you have the ability or experience to really drive a car with street tires and gears. I would bet there is a 13.0-13.2 in your car with drag radials, with better air and with you behind the wheel.

thanks mark. Honestly, if any experiance i do have, its from screwing around on my back roads every time i go for a late night food run..which is about once or twice a week. But, aside from driving how i normally do, i just simply lowered the psi in my tires, warmed them up for a bit, and popped outta first around 1900-2200 rpm just like u said, my clutch doesnt allow too much slippage, but i managed to figure out a good balance. I didnt fully mash the pedal outta the hole, but, for that split second of when you know its hooked, then...thats when it was pedal to the metal all the way, i had very little spin on second if any, and a chirp in third. As far as drag radials, thats gonna have to wait, i am still a poor college student haha (waiting on that left over financial aid ) then maybe ill snag some radials, and a new set of pullies and perhaps some control arms, spings and shocks to plant that thing to the floor better. This will be my budget around christmas time since heads, cams, power adder will have to wait till im more financially ready to afford those, and its not buying and installing the heavy stuff, but, more of a maintance issue (upkeeping requires a good amount of doe)

and dustin, thanks for the compliments man, appreciate it.
