i know i cant be the only one that is aggravated by the terrible trunk light in every mustang from 94-04. so i though i would do something to fix it.
first a little back story. i work for a company called TouchTunes, we manufacture and distribute touch screen jukeboxes. im sure all of you have see at least 1 of them. i work in the tech support call center. in our newer juke's there is a lit up dome that says TouchTunes and the bottom of the juke has a little bilboard thing that says TouchTunes. these are lit up by stick-on LED strips. i though it would be perfect to light up my trunk (they are after all 12v strips) so i started my project. i went to the warehouse manager and asked for them and he handed them to me. they arent expensive and we charge our operators $7 per led strip.
first, they come in set of 5. and there are 24 leds per strip. im only using 1 but i knew i was gong to ruin some because my soldering skills suck
i then reamed out the holes where i was going to solder with a push pin and soldered some really crappy 20awg speaker wire to the connector. it sucks as speaker wire, but works perfect for this
found the spot i was going to mount it, peeled off the sticky back and put it there
all i did was wire to the were my trunk light bulb is supposed to be and i was done. the finished pic is not very good. it actually lights up the entire trunk much better than what the picture shows.
