The mustang has allways been about sales, like anyother car. Thats why they build them, to sell and make profit. After all, ford is a car company. Like shelby's of the past, the new ones are bult in limited numbers each year. All mustangs are classic, or will be. Even the mustang II's are valuble today, who would of thought that would be the case back in the 70's.

It's like I always say, "drive the thing or sell it to someone who will".

I agree. I don't think that it's unfair for a business to make money where they can. New cars cost too much for me to easily afford, so I don't buy them. I'm glad there are people out there who can afford new cars though, because in 15 years or so hopefully I will be able to afford them (once they have 150K on them and aren't so pretty any more!).

I have to admit that I don't feel sorry for people who complain about the cost of luxury items.

I agree, I decided to can the ragtop instead of restoring it. I like my trucks and there are only a few on the roads around here. I drive the 65 F 100 every day and I still have the '46 in the garage that I can build. And I just picked up a 71 Bronco as well. And none of them are UNIBODY

Oooooh, a '71 Bronc! You lucky dawg. I still want a bob-tail Bronco for a back-trail "get-around" rig. Little 302, preferably a four-speed, maybe A/C for those long drives upriver..... Jeeps are nice, but truck-style doors and windows keep the mesquite and ocotillo branches out

It's a 302 3 on the tree P/S, manual brakes and no A/C. I bought it sight unseen from a very reliable mechanic friend. At the moment it's buried in a barn about 2 miles from my place. All I saw was the grill It's had the engine rebuilt by my local machine shop, and the clutch and brakes done by my buddy, and a rust free body, then it got parked for 10 years. I paid $1200 for it. Thought that was a steal if it's half what its suppose to be.

Ya, she's in the driveway. I'm trying to decide if I want to strip it and save the parts or sell it. I've got to many projects, a couple have to go.

i hate new cars, in general, and i too am very disgusted with seeing someone way cool, totally unique, all BS S197 on the cover of every mustang mag. Its getting really old, but it does all come down to money. for the sake of fords well being, ill allow it, but i dont like it either. All they do is some paintjob, CAI, exhaust, and wheels. Whoopty ****! The only S197 i would buy is a V6, and i'd do a total teardown and turn it into an FR500C. Thats th eonly one that doesnt weigh more than my truck, and it runs circles around the competition.

Til then though, ill keep disturbing the peace with my old school windsors!

I find the many variants of the new Mustang to be interesting and seeing 600+ HP avaliable from the from the factory with a warranty, is increadible and something I could not have never imagined not so many years back. That being said, I have no real desire to own one, even if I could afford it. The two Mustangs that I currently own give me so much satisfaction and maximum "smiles" per gallon
that having a new one does not interest me in the least. My 65 K code coupe is all original except for Torque Thrust D wheels and my 87 5.0 LX is a 50K original mile car that I have owned since new and ouside of wheels, tires and minor bolt on's is still pretty much as Ford assembeled it. They are both nice cars, clean enough to grab the occasional trophy at local car shows and both are great drivers which is the main reason they exist and are parked in my garage. Maintaining and working on them is one of the greatest stress reducers in the world and I would not trade them for any type of new vehicle.
