Well guys and gals,

It only took 2 days of driving by my wife to fry my clutch, now in her defense, it was marginal to begin with and it was only a matter of time before it went. So, off to the shop my stang goes.

Since LaMotta's was in the area, I had it towed over there for them to replace the clutch. While they are at it, they are also doing the following:

New motor mounts
New gaskets on the oil pan
clutch (king cobra)
new seals and bearings, fork
new clutch cable
new quadrant
new gears (3.73)
new rear axles (one axle had a bad bearing)
new axle bearings and seals
new speedo gear

And that should take care of most of the miscellaneous work that I was going to have done. With these fixes and changes out of the way, I can start on the exhaust and fuel/air mods next. The butcher's bill for all the work......$1855.19. .. So yeah, I am paying for it, but LaMotta's has a really solid rep with doing the job right.

So, does your wife think it costs $1,800 to have a clutch replaced? I blew a head gasket and convinced my wife I needed AFR 165's "while they were taking the heads off anyway."

Got the my stang back in one day! The guys at LaMotta's rock Only two words to say about the 3.73's Unf'ng amazing!!! My stang feels like has real balls now! I wonder why I never did the gear upgrade before. Oh, and my wife got a new car, so I have the her old one... Now, I can work on the stang, and not worry about a commuter car. Next up the intake systems! Hey it's only money

1Bad89Coupe,

Actuallly just North of Oviedo, about 2 miles north (towards Geneva), off of 426.
So we are probably about 5 miles from each other.
