Both my drivers side and passengers side windows are loose. I cant pull them out but there loose. They work good. If i have them halfway down and hit a bump they shake. Anyone have this problem or know what i need to do to fix it? Thanks

If you pull off the door panel there is a window brace that presses the glass against the outside window seal (the "dew wipe"). On a lot of doors this is either broke/missing/loose. It's basically just a little bracket thing with a felt pad that puts pressure on the glass and keeps it from rattling. I'd look into that and see if they're on your doors. Other than that, i don't know what year your car is but if it's a 4 eye and the outside dew wipe is dry rotted..that could be your problem too and/or the other thing.

Guys and gals....this is in ALL foxes. EVERY single car I've had and gotten in the yard has done that....I also saw a 5,000 mile 93 Cobra a WW this year. The owner was very nice, and I asked him if they did that...and he showed me, that his rocked too. It's just how it is.

I had this same problem for a while, there is two ways to correctly fix it...

a.)Drive with the windows all the way up

b.)Drive with the windows all the way down

:stupid:

I tried to fix this years ago with these... they helped somewhat, but there is more to the problem. When it gets warmer I'm going to throw these window gear bushings on and see if it doesnt fix it, it cant hurt to replace them anyway.

My drivers side window started teetering all the time as of late and the rear edge likes to go outside of the window frame when I roll the window up. I dont like driving with the windows down, but its still annoying when I use them.

I guess i'll have to pull my door panels off and take pics of what i'm talking about, cause my windows are rock solid no matter how high or low they're rolled.

I know what you're talking about, its right by the door lock pin. :nice: I messed with that too, it helps with keeping the window on the track; but it does nothing to stop the window from bobbing up and down. It seems like it has something to do with the regulator or motor.

those gear bushings are for the window motor. i literally just got finished doing my quarter windows. and i got mine at autozone for 7.99. fixed my problem of the window not going up and down but it doesn't have anything to do with a loose window.

i would think the are rollers that go up and down on a track to guide the gear lever. i could see those things wearing out and having play, but could luck getting to them. the easiest way would be to plasma cut the inner door sheet metal out and then welding it back together.
