i have 3:73's,,short throw, headers, exhuast andhaunestlythe car only puts me in my seat in first gear. anyone have any ideas? Im thinking timing. Or im just craving more power
i think you need a tune up........my car blows the rear tires out in 1st (275's) 2nd, 3rd and 4th pull you very hard, 5 is ok......but you do get used to being pushed into the seat and it begins to feel normal....not fast any more.
i thought my car was a good runner........i put a new cap, rotor 9 mm plugwires new plugs and o2 sensors.........what a differnce. Night and day.
Tune-up all the way and while you are at it clean the throttle body, new fuel filter, air filter etc...Do the simple stuff first, if that doesn't work then............
Like others have stated, full tune (plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, clean air filter if you have a reusable), I would also chk for codes, see if you have any vacuum leaks, chk fuel pressure, timing, and clean maf. Also, if you have shorty equal length headers, chk your wires to see if they are burning, I switched from equal lengths to full lengths due to my wires burning up.
Yeah honostly looking at your mods you've got full exhaust, gears, and a short throw whick doesnt really add power just allows for faster shifting so your car is basically stock. Having stated that you have a wealth of option layed out in front of you depending on your personal taste and what is 'fast' to you. If the car is new too you or you just have never done it b4, besides the things that were stated above i would also (and someone else has mentioned this in another thread) change the tranny fluid, change the rear end fluid, fix any oil leaks, change the oil if it needs it, make sure your cooling system is working well. You'd be suprised what these small details can do for your ride as i'm sure everyone here will atest to. Just remember, dont give up, as hard as it may seem, we ALWAYS win. Good luck.

Take it to the track and see what it runs! Then come back and share the results.. We will tell you whether your car is running up to snuff or your butt-dyno is miscalibrated.
Your next mods should be a set of underdrive pulleys and a better flowing intake manifold.. Will give you a nice midrange kick!
