Earlyer during another post I was asked if I plan to stick with n/a, Besides s/c I was thinking about n20.... How safe are the kits you buy these days on your engine, and to what rateing are they safe? 100-150??? How much does the adverage bottle cost to refill? can todays kits hurt engine at all?? Any certain milage n2o should not be ran? Alot of questions huh?????

Any help would be awsome, and also I have seen s/c kits for a lil over $1,000 and most n2O kits are half that, wouldent it be smarter to spend a lil more and get something you dont have to refill and can have whenever you want?

Thanks,
-Kelvin

Nitrous is not a bad thing! I know quite a few people who run nitrous kits & are very happy with it. The only people who blow up their motors on the bottle are boneheads that don't know what they are doing. They either use too much or don't properly set up their car for it. My best advice is to get with a reputable speed shop and have them go through it with you. If installed and tuned correctly, it can be a great power adder. As long as you have a professional install it & tune your car, and you do a little homework on your own, you will be fine. Also, don't be afraid to ask the speed shop tech questions. The only stupid question is the one you don't ask!

blower kit for $1000? that might be just the head unit.

www.modularpowerhouse.com

and check out the mongoose kits, they're quite a bit more than $1000. but with those you get everything needed, not to mention a kickass tune.

nitrous is perfectly fine as long as you set it up properly , and have it tuned (don't lean out). a wet kit is safer than a dry kit.

Kelvin,

Supercharger kits are a lot more expensive than n20 kits, however, you will always have the power with the S/C. A very good kit from modularpowerhouse is sold for about $3800 (Vortech S-trim). That kit comes with the tune as well. If your going to spray, you'll have to have a dyno shop tune your car (which could cost $500). I wouldn't spray more than a 100 shot, but you MUST have a good tune, or say good bye to your engine. Any power adders can be safe, as long as you have a good tune. The choice is up to you man.

Nitrous can be a wonderful power adder. It adds but loads of torque. I know of more than a handful of cars here local that run 125 wet shots on thier cars with no problems at all. Some dont even have a tune. the best and safest way is to make sure you get all the bells and whistles. (WOT switch, window switch, bottle heater and so on).
