Hey guys I put a used MagnaFLow catted xpipe on my 99 GT in August while home from Iraq on R&R. I got back in the states in December. The other day after some hard driving on the highway i noticed a rattle that sounds like it is coming from the cats. I sounds like a little pebble inside the cats. Can you give advise on what it could be.

Alright i think i have a pretty good idea what it is cause im going threw the same thing...i just put on a new clutch and had to take off and put on my H pipe...I had the same rattling it sounds like...mostly when your de-clelerating right??...anyway my problem is the Sensors are loose that hook into your pipes there are 4 all together two on each pipe....inside your exh there is a ball that is part of the sensor...its loose...atleast thats what is wrong with mine..i hope this info helps

I dont know if this is any different, but on my friends 95 gt his heatshields worked themselves loose and rattled on de-celeration.

I'm gonna go with heat shields, becuase hopefully neither of the cats are already f'ed up inside.


BTW, Thank you for serving our country. I have a few buddies over in Iraq (Army and Marines) and i'm a future grunt myself. Signed an 8yr contract with the Marines in November.

cats breaking apart. itll get worse over time, like marbles rattling in the exhaust, usually on decel.

i don't have cats on mine...i just need to unplug the 02 sensers nad tighten the bering..
