I remember watching one of the car shows several years ago and seeing them install this product. I don't remember the name or who makes it but this is what it does:
It was a box located after the headers that switched your exhaust direction from the mufflers/cats to a straight pipe upon pushing a button inside the vehicle. So pretty much you press a button and your car gets louder. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? What is the name of this product? Who makes it?
Thanks.

That's an electric exhaust cutout.

The only one I would trust is DMH Performance. They have a great warranty. All the others I know of tend to fail at the butterfly valve.

Exhaust cutouts are fun. Had them on my 6r but then I started going deaf because of annoying noise on the highway. I suggest, if you get them to use them only on city driving. It's a lot more fun that way than the highway because of the sound levels. Stepping on it too is a lot of fun with the CO's:D

Not to mention you'd lose back-pressure, likely causing a loss in power. Ford did a great job with the exhaust on the S197, best to just toss on a mid-pipe and stick with stock mufflers (if you're content with their sound)
