I finally got around to getting my GT500 fuel pumps installed, smaller upper pulley, and getting a new dyno tune at VMP Tuning. I still need to install the Roush P51 clutch though. The GT500 fuel pump install was pretty easy. The hardest part about the install was getting the assembly into the tank. It takes some finesse to say the least, still not that bad. Than you plug the wiring into the trunk under the trunk floor and run the power wire to the fuse box in the engine compartment. The power wire FRPP supplies you with is just enough. I think it could of been another 10-12" and been perfect. Maybe it's just me ..

Once that was done we swapped the Roush TVS 2.95" pulley for a GT500 2.65" upper pulley onto my blower to increase boost. The first run we made 504 rwhp but we had major belt slip. So, we deliberated for a while and decided to increase the size of another idler. The center idler is already a 90mm. There is a idler to the far right of the center idler that we increased to 100mm which eliminated most of the belt slack. I'm still running Steeda UDPs, too. We never saw any more belt slip ...

So, with that said we were shocked with the next results .. As far as mods I'm running a Roush TVS R2300, Steeda UDPs, 2.65" upper pulley, GT500 fuel pumps, O/R X Pipe and Magnaflow Magnapacks. When I had the stock fuel pump and 2.95" upper pulley the car made 463 rwhp and 425 rwtq. The final numbers were 506 rwhp and 476 rwtq today !! I'm ecstatic to say the least. My goal was to hit 500+ rwhp with this round of mods and tuning. My car is my daily driver and the car is very streetable with VMP's tune. I really couldn't be happier. Boost comes on quick and hard. The car drives great when you're tooling around town.

Are you still on stock internals?

+1.

If so, I hope you don't have an oil pan failure. Great numbers and more importantly, it's great to hear that the driveability hasn't suffered.

I was making more than that on stock internals for a few months with no problems what-so-ever, in fact I only changed out the bottom end because I am getting ready to run it to 19 lbs of boost and add nitrous.

That's called a bad tune.... seriously guys, 500 RWHP is fine on a stock bottom end, unless you plan on running at WOT for 10 hours straight. That would be rough on any engine and require a tear-down afterwards. Anyway, good luck with your car and I'm sure there is alot more in it before you break anything.

Looks great on paper. I'm sure it's just as great in person. As long as your tune is good, which it looks good (again, on paper), you shouldn't have any problems.

Very happy for you running 500+ rwhp with no problems...BUT...I know of many cases (my trailer has been used a lot) where motors, transmissions, rear-ends have gone at around 500 rear wheel (with sound tunes). Tune is critical, no doubt, but driving habits and track visits are also predisposing factors.

Plus dyno numbers themselves can be very misleading. 500 rwhp on a mustangdyno can be 600 on a dynojet. Our car and a friend's car (also FI) both showed a 20% drop in rwhp numbers (not power) going from the same dynojet and operator to the same mustangdyno and operator. These were baseline pulls on the mustandyno with no change in tunes. Power was same...just the numbers changed.

To say "500 RWHP is fine on a stock bottom end" is misleading.

We could start a Stangnet pool on which part breaks first and how long it will take.

Nasty, I wouldn't worry too much about breaking things because it give you a reason to upgrade. Then again it is your DD so if you start hot rodding too much you may want to have a backup plan for getting around if you do blow something up.

Awesome numbers.... but I'd bet that there is some more hidden in there with a better tune. The MAP signal starts to get a bit noisy after ~3.5k, and I'd be willing to bet that can be cleaned up and smoothed out. After some more testing and dyno tunes, I wouldn't be surprised if you find some more in there.

Good luck!

You guys actually make a lot of sense. Your right about my HP numbers, on a Dyno, not a Mustangdyno... I didn't mean to be misleading. And the upgrade part is dead on. Just build it and fix the broken parts with good aftermarket strong parts. I have 5 cars though, so if it is a DD, you should plan ahead more.

It's a characteristic of the TVS blowers and smoothing is set at zero, not five like most tuners like to hide their flaws.

B-E-A-U-TIFUL numbers man! I'm sure it's a BLAST!

I'm contemplating the Roush TVS 2300 blower... How much psi are you running to hit 500? (Sorry, I'm bad with pulley --> psi conversions )
