The rain stopped me from showing up on Sunday but John said you put down some good times. Tell us more about the 03 Sonic Blue Cobra you ran against and posted a 11.11 or something like that. You weren't sand bagging at all were you? I really need to see your car!! Turbos rule.

Well, The car was running great. I had no funds for race gas, so I had the boost turned down as far as it would go. It was seeing 10lbs at the top of the track, but more in the 8.5-9.5 area. One thing that I've been working on is building boost on the starting line. The MSD two-step really helps with that. I heard about the turbo Buick guys using their E-brake to help keep the car from rolling (up on the converter) while on the starting line. I gave it a shot in my driveway and found some good stuff. So, I hooked my two-step up to the E brake switch, and now the car will hold 3500rpm on the starting line, makes about 6-7lbs in about 1 second, and goes the first 60 ft in about 1.55 seconds.

All runs where at 10 lbs of boost.

1.55 60/ft
11.12 @ 120

1.56 60/ft
11.14 @ 119

1.58 60/ft
11.17 @ 119

I packed it up early because of a on track problem with their retarded (Blind) crew. I'm not sure if I'll be going back to that track.

They sent me down the track with a car still on it. Jon's turbo (His wife was driving) mustang had problems in the lane in front of me. She didn't make it to the return road. I thought she was way down there from my view, and I was motioned to stage. I stageed, the lights came down, and I went. Hit second, hit third, and looked up and saw her stuck on the track about 300-400 feet pass the finish line. I looked to see where the other car was(the one I was racing), moved over into his lane, and just missed hitting her. I was so mad that the track offical sent us racing with a car on the track, that I just called it a day and went home. I'm sending the owner of the track E-mails to see what happened. I'm not sure if I'm gonna go back, but I didn't get kicked out.

Glad to hear the car ran well. I wish I could have made it out! Next year I will be there with my car, ready to break stuff. I should have weekends free starting in October, so if you want to head to Rrev to do some steady-state tuning, let me know.

I'm learning lots of stuff playing with the MegaSquirt DFI. Really cool little setup. But I'll keep that in mind.

Man, that was a close call. I'm sure they didn't want anything like that to happen.
Saftey is allways the #1 thing (at any track) and I can see why you are so upset.
I'm glad that everyone is OK. Maybe this will show the track owner, that they need more saftey people at every event, not just the big ones. I know PIR, doesn't have the same caliber of surface as Woodburn, and it is farther away for you to race at, but you might have to give it a try before the seasons end.

Good Luck and Good Racing,
Roger
