I had a close call in the garage yesterday. I had my car up on on jackstands in the rear and on ramps in the front to install subframe connectors. When I was done I lowered the rear but had trouble getting the jack out from under the rear end because the car is so low. In trying to get the jack out I caused the car to start rolling down from the ramps. I was partly under the car so I quick got out but could not keep the car from coming down the ramps. The car rolled back and crashed into the racks and shop press that were behind it in the back of the garage. But since I had a heavy rubber fender apron laying over the press, the crash did no damage, plus I got my head out in time to keep it from getting squished like a grape Not one of my finer (or smarter) moments!

The subframe connectors turned out great!

Yeah, I didn't even think about how bad that could have turned out until later. Like an idiot, I was more worried about the car than myself

been there. had it up on the ramps and started the jack the rear up, as soon as it got off the ground, the pass side started to roll down the ramp, quarter panel heading right for the wall. i dropped that rear down so hard i thought i was going to crunch the fuel tank. yeah at the time your thoughts are for the car but after you realize how stupid you were for thinking it. good to hear nothing bad came out of it.

next time put something on the ramps so the fronts can't move. if you don't have blocks that will stay, use ratchet straps through the wheels/ramps if you can.

Glad everything was ok- I've done it too.

I had the front on ramps, started jacking up back end in the garage and all the sudden my Stang is rolling down the ramps out the door and down my slopped driveway! Luckly the e-brake was set so I dropped the floor jack and it stopped. Rolled a good 7-10 feet! I was done for the day after that.

Can't believe I'm going to own up to this. One night, a really late night, Rog and I decided were going to change head gaskets on my car. So we did, car started right up first try (shouldn't have been starting anything). We needed to hook up the inline fuel pump. Got the ramps out, put them under the wheels, revved the car up, both Nitto drag radials caught the ramps and I spun the tires launching the ramps under the car. Got out of the car and it's teetering on the ramps. Look over and Rog is actually on the floor in the garage laughing hysterically. We took the car out for a ride that night (longer story).

Here are the pictures 2003.

Did this once...

And while trying to help a friend get home (he was stranded at college). I got under a car on jack... The worst kind

While loosening his belt tensioner to get his belt back on i hear a creeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek. I look over and the jack is flexing in half. Ive never moved so fast in my life... I was able to get out with just a bad scrape on my knuckle just before the car would of fallen on me.

That's a big +2. Did the same thing in my second fox body. It's pretty easy to do IMHO.

We definitely COULD have made Charles Darwin proud that night, but we fortunately didn't have any issues beyond the mustang seesaw. Can't say as much for the eclipse with the brand new turbo we ran into though.

I must say that night by far was they best my 94GT had ever run with the Vortech.

I remember you writing a post about the events that happened that night but after trying to sneak the car in the garage at 3AM with the cam rumbling the house part (hitting the A/C handler stand), putting it in an open forum might have not been the best idea anyway.

It was so long ago I would have loved to had read that thread (events were shady). That Eclipse blew pistons out the side of the block if I remember correctly. He thought after seeing my stock looking GT with waffle rims and 3 inches of dust on it he had an easy win in front of all his friends.
