Well, as the title states, I'm about ready for paint and I would like some suggestions for those that have been through this already. The car currently is almost completely stripped. It stall has the fenders, doors, trunk lid and door glass (will pull it once I figure out how).
As soon as the door glass comes out I plan to go out the car w/ a DA and get it down to metal and then do the body work (just a little windshield channel repair, the A-pillar welds and fix a couple of minor rust spots on the driver door.
Once this is done I plan to spray the car w/ epoxy primer myself. Following this I was thinking about masking and spraying the jambs, underside of hood and trunk, inside the doors, etc. and then assembling the car (doors, hood, fenders, etc.) and taking it somewhere to be sprayed.
Does this sound like a decent plan of attack? I'm currently looking to either rent a booth or find a shop to spray it for me. I'm not looking to invest a ton of $$$ in this job because the car is a driver that will sit outside during the summer months.
If anyone has input or knows of a good reasonable paint shop in NJ I am interested in hearing about it.
Attached are some photos as the car sat a few weeks ago - its now stripped further.
