hey im gonna start tryin to do some work on my car, but i wanna do a good tune up i had plans to do a few certain things:

I NEED A GUIDE FOR THE FOLLOWING:
-how to change a fuel filter.
-change spark plugs ( i think i know how to do this lol but just incase)
-install CAI (same i think i know how to do this but... yea)

i have had some issused with my car seemin like its sputtering when i drive some times, all i have done to my car is pro5.0 shifter, springs (lowering) and catles xpipe and cut off's at the flows. but when im driving like i said is seems like it drags some times. what is the cause of this? the rpm DONT move at all like the engine is dyin, just feels like a draggin that slows me down kinda. does this make sense? ive heard it could be a dirty fuel filter? or fuel pump? keep in mind my RPMS DONT fluxuate (sp). i think i wanna change my fuel filter any way just as a good peace of mind exercise. so if any one can help me with my problem id apreciate it alot. sorry for the long post

further more: ive noticed some of my friends with different mustangs (94 gt) have really wide tires, is there any way that i could get wider tires? different rims perhaps? what is the max i could get ? thanks alot guys and gals!!!

i have a 1998 mustang gt 5 speed btw.. thanks again

its all here (+ some):

the RPM drop could be due to dirty fuel filter or you need a new IAC valve. pretty common and easy to fix problem on the 4.6L 2v. theres a link to a pic of the IAC valve in that tech thread archive i just posted in case you dont know where it is.

as for tires, you can fit a 10.5" wheel in the rear w/ a 315 tire. you should go for 9" in the front w/ 275s and the 10.5s in the rear w/ the 315s.

pick up a haynes manual from advanced auto, or a chiltons somewhere that sells them. its a how-to, step-by-step that covers all the basics and then some for your car. it does require some mechanical suave though, as do most tasks.

the links above are very helpful as well. the advantage of a haynes or chilton is having it right next to you as you work, instead of having to print out all those pages from the interweb. i usually read the stuff on-line a few times to get familiar with it, then take the haynes with me to do the job.
