well technically you do need a new jack so just go buy one and if you feel confident enough to do it then go ahead or just save up the money and have a muffler shop install it. should range anywhere form 50-100 bucks

This one may work... I will look into it, thank you.LI98GTStang said:I used ramps to install my x-pipe, not a jack. Do you have Ramps, if not a set of Rhino ramps are < $50.00.

Don't know, he just told me we had to get a new one before I could do the install.CobraRed_96_GT said:do you actually need a new jack? does it not hold pressure - or is it just low on fluid?
I don't know why, I think it's cause he thought in the beginning that I would be happy with a few interior billet partsDTNODYA said:My Advise:
You mentioned that your husband bascially does not want you to work on your car ... Is it that he does not like cars? You say that you do not spend all your time messing with your car so it seems to me that he either:
A.) Does not think you are capable/doesn't want you to get hurt or
B.) Does not want you to have a nicer car than he does![]()
or
C.) He is just a controlling person.
Now, if you know what you are doing, have the tools, understand all the safety related stuff with working on your own car ... then go buy a jack. It sounds like, whether you put the H-pipe on or not, he will be arguing with you ... so why not put the exhaust on?![]()

In all seriousness though, any time you're under the car, a hydraulic jack is never enough support to truly be safe... I wouldn't want you working under your car without some jack stands for added support. Now, when I get under the car, I could give 2 craps about my own safety, I generally use a stack of waffle cones for support and just hope for the best. This whole situation is ridiculous though, you should start a small savings account for mustang stuff, maybe 5% of each check, then use it for whatever you want. That'd be the day I told me wife "no you can't mod your car!" If anything, I would have a heart attack from over excitement
I was planning on jackstands, too. But now I'm thinking either ramps or maybe taking it to the shop.
