need a guy's opinion/advice

My Advise:

You mentioned that your husband bascially does not want you to work on your car ... Is it that he does not like cars? You say that you do not spend all your time messing with your car so it seems to me that he either:

A.) Does not think you are capable/doesn't want you to get hurt or

B.) Does not want you to have a nicer car than he does :p
or

C.) He is just a controlling person.

Now, if you know what you are doing, have the tools, understand all the safety related stuff with working on your own car ... then go buy a jack. It sounds like, whether you put the H-pipe on or not, he will be arguing with you ... so why not put the exhaust on?

I have found that the more my wife asks me to do something the less I want to do it. When you stop asking then your husband will do it. I do not suggest you try to do it yourself because exhaust work SUCKS...

This is why I only ask about once a month, so I am not nagging (also, I NEVER ask him to do anything - except I did ask him to re-hook up the x-box tonight, haha). And really, all I was asking was that he stand by and watch, since that was supposed to be the reason I couldn't do it myself, no one there to help if I became a pancake.

I don't know why, I think it's cause he thought in the beginning that I would be happy with a few interior billet parts
I wouldn't say I know what I am doing, but I learn as I go. I have installed everything listed in my sig alone with no help, and also replaced the rear bumper cover when it got damaged, so I consider myself fairly capable, and really do not want to pay someone else to build my car if I can do it myself. I know there are things I will not be able to do myself, but I asked here before I bought the midpipe, and generally everyone said I should be able to do it myself...

i wish my girl would be into helping me work on my car. i would really like for her to come up to me this sunday and say "baby, do you care if i go with you and help put that viper transmission in your car" that would be f'n sweet!

back of bitches, Melinda is mine :spot: :D

In all seriousness though, any time you're under the car, a hydraulic jack is never enough support to truly be safe... I wouldn't want you working under your car without some jack stands for added support. Now, when I get under the car, I could give 2 craps about my own safety, I generally use a stack of waffle cones for support and just hope for the best. This whole situation is ridiculous though, you should start a small savings account for mustang stuff, maybe 5% of each check, then use it for whatever you want. That'd be the day I told me wife "no you can't mod your car!" If anything, I would have a heart attack from over excitement

Isn't your husband a Doctor? He just sounds controlling and cheap to me...take it to the muffler shop on rt 130 in Cinnaminson next to where 73 intersects across from the Landscape supply and Pepboys...The owner is a hillbilly and does good work at fair prices.

you're in jersey too....how you plannin on passin inspection with a Mac O/R pipe??
I'm not :D
That's why he made me get it inspected first, cause I rode around with a bad sticker for 2 years (tint). I passed, and now I'm good til Oct. 08, and I thought by then I could get a prochamber and just switch it out for inspection.

No, it's not that he's cheap... it's just a thing with the car... I could go out and buy expensive jewelry today (if I was into that) and he wouldn't say a thing, it's just the car. I will stop in that shop tomorrow when I'm doing my route. I'm also going to ask Sutton's Speed today.

;) I was planning on jackstands, too. But now I'm thinking either ramps or maybe taking it to the shop.
