Yeah I always get a little creeped out if im under my car and it's just supported by a jack or even jack stands. Something about having a ton of metal on top of you is sorta creepy I guess?

Melinda...first off...NEVER NEVER NEVER WORK SOLELY UNDER A JACK!!! Are you NUTS?! My best friend lost his friend like this! Working under solely a jack and the jack gave loose and crushed him to death. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE THIS MISTAKE! JACK STANDS!!!

If you do it this way, he has no reason to complain.

I was all about doing the work myself....but the mid and cat-back were a PITA for me working by myself under jackstands. Exhaust pieces can get pretty heavy when you're trying to hold them up with your forehead while you use t he other two hands to situate and tighten bolts. If I had it to do over again, and could get it installed for 50-75 bucks, I'd just let someone else do it. Or borrow someone's lift.

Do it soon though, I did mine in Jan...sucked working on cold concrete garage floor all day. I was frozen to the core for 2 days.

No, it's not that he's cheap... it's just a thing with the car... I could go out and buy expensive jewelry today (if I was into that) and he wouldn't say a thing, it's just the car. I will stop in that shop tomorrow when I'm doing my route. I'm also going to ask Sutton's Speed today.

If you do decide to do it yourself you can buy those Rhino Ramps at Walmart for about $20. I use them all the time....money well spent.

My ramps didn't get it high enough to have any room to work on the mid-pipe. I jacked that bitch up to the ceiling.

Well, Sutton's told me $65 to $75, so I think I'm just going to do that. Maybe I'll ebay some crap off so I can raise the money myself.
Thanks for all the input

I think it is funny that some of you guys want a girl that is into cars. Trust me, when you get older, that time alone under the hood is paradise...

Yes, but the car is a big issue in my house. He hates that I am too into it, and it is usually the only thing we fight about, and lately he's been telling me in the "car" fights to leave and go find someone willing to build cars with me. Changes his mind after the fight, but I'd like to try not to cause one of those fights if I can help it.

Divorce. A guy who doesn't like cars is like a guy who....umm....how can I say this...has no balls.
