My axle is bent and am looking for suggestions as to the best place to get a new axle. I just want to replace with another stock one. I'm not really looking to upgrade. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Oh and I have and 02 GT

1979-1993 8.8's - 29 3/16" axle lengths
1994-1998 8.8's - 29 31/32" axle lengths
1999-2004 8.8's - 30 11/16" axle lengths

Just go with an OEM replacement. They are right around 100 bucks.

Without ABS Ford Part# XR3Z4234BA
With ABS Ford Part# XR3Z4234AA

The 1998 and earlier had shorter axles, and I wouldn't recommend trying to use them. Just get the 30 11/16" axles.

Interesting. I found slightly different dimensions for the axle lengths. Read into them however you wish…..http://www.kabele.com/axleshaftsford.htm

79-93 Ford Mustang - D9B24234C - 29 1/4”
94-98 Mustang w/(wo) ABS - F4ZZ4234A(B) - 29 15/16”
99-02 Mustang with ABS - XR3Z4234AA - 30-11/16”
82-92 Ford Ranger/Bronco II Left Axle - E3TZ4234C - 29 1/8”

I understand, but it's not surprising as many manuals and/or online references will round to the nearest 1/4 or 1/16. For example on the 94-98', they take the actual measurement of 29 31/32" (29 15.5/16") and round it to 29 15/16".

The lengths that I posted are the lengths stated in the Ford and Alldata Service manuals, and I have verfied all 3 measurements and they are accurate.

Anyway, the Ranger axles are not a good idea. They are way too short. I can't tell you how many times I have seen stuff torn up by people putting those Ranger axles in a stock 8.8" rear end.
