Well my attempt of building up current C4 failed miserably. Put behind my new 347 and burned it up after the 1st test drive. Lesson learned - leave rebuilding auto trans to the experts.

In any case I need a new trans fast. Dying to get the car on the road after 2 years. As much as I would like to go with respected custom shops they are all swamped now.

TCI has the attached in stock. Little more than I need - rated at 600hp. But after my last experience I figured a little over kill is not a bad thing.

Thru summit I can have in 3 days. In speaking to a local trans guy looks like quality parts. For the $1200 Summit price does not seem like a bad deal. I sort of remember hearing a mixed bad about TCI - Just curious if anyone has any experience with this trans and an opinion on quality of it.

Love my PA C4. 200+ 10 second passes and still shifts like new. Zero flare in 3rd.

Not sure what models come with it, but a few have the lifetime warranty. I believe the street smart kits, come with a converter, trans and dipstick. We purchased a TH400 that way for my brother in laws car for that reason.

My ArtCar trans was nothing like this one.

I have a TCI Street Fighter C-4 in my '66.

Front pump had come part way out during packing/shipping (along with some other parts behind it), had to start my installation by having a local trans shop clean out the cardboard packing fuzz from the case and reassemble.

Governor sticks (since day 1), won't readily shift 2-3 when it's cold.

Whines worse than my 8 year old daughter.

All that being said, I haven't been able to break it yet. No matter how bad I want to.

/want a PA for my Falcon.

I wouldn't worry about it. I figure the shipping/ packing thing was a 1 in a million thing, that's why I didn't call Summit or TCI about it. I don't know if the sound it makes is normal or not for a C-4 with extra clutches, ect - it's the only performace trans I've had. FWIW I trashed 2 stock rebuilt transmissions before the TCI, so I guess it is more durable (cause I'm not any gentler with it).

thanks - getting a little paranoid since I burned one trans up already. The guy from summit who took my order was a gear head and has a TCI C6 and said he liked the trans and it was packaged good when he got it. I already trashed one stock rebuilt so I'm getting close to you. For another $600 I could have gotten a lifetime on a PA.. If I F'up this one I'll go that route.
