Hey Gang:

Well I am started on my Notch build... Just bought a 427 Dart block, all forged internal stroker... My plan is to put in either a single 88 or twin 63 turbo... Should be good for around 1,000 fwHP...

I have decided that I want a three speed tranny... At first I was thinking a C4 because Dynamic and PA both claim theirs will take 1000+ HP... Then I post someting and everyone is telling me how they torched their C4's... Seem's the hot ticket right now is the TH400 swap... So, I am looking for someone here in the PNW that builds race tranny's... I want to go talk with them about which way to go -- with them knowing that they are going to be the one that is going to have to explain to me why I fried their recommendation... I figure that way I will get the best recommendation...

Anyone to suggest???

Thanks.

You should give a call to Village Transmission in Edmonds. They have been at it for years. We saw them running several cars at the drags this last weekend, and they have a tans. dyno in house. I have not dealt with them for many years but they were always good to me in the past.

What he said.

They had a 3-car race team at Pacific for the Nationals.

Those TH400's eat up some power go for a glide...

EDIT: nevermind I didn't read that you wanted a 3 speed.

Give Ellis Groo a call who is out of Monroe. He has built many solid TH400 for local racers. In fact check out this article mentioning his transmissions: Glutton For Speed 2 - 1999 Camaro SS - Feature - GM High-Tech Performance

425-922-8944.
