Looking into a B&M A/T cooler.... can one of you fellas let me know which one of these would work best. I am lounging and lazy at the moment.

SuperCooler 16,000 GVW - 11" x 5-3/4" x 3/4" BMA70255
SuperCooler 19,000 GVW - 11" x 7-1/2" x 3/4" BMA70268
SuperCooler 24,000 GVW - 11" x 6" x 1-1/2" BMA70264

Here is how they are listed on B&M Racing's website. Same Part#. One uses the Gross Vehicle Weight and the other British Thermal Units.... Go figure.

70255 - SuperCooler rated at 9,800 BTU 11"x5-3/4"x3/4"
70264 - SuperCooler rated at 14,400 BTU 11"x6"x1-1/2"
70268 - SuperCooler rated at 13,000 BTU 11"x7-1/2"x3/4"

Thanks
Jennifer

Why do you want to add a cooler? The 5R55S is designed to function best between 140 and 200 degress. Mercon V ATF does not exhibit any breakdown until 220 degrees. If you must add a cooler, mount it in series with the OEM cooler. The 16,000 lb GVW model is fine.

Thanks Raven,

Answer: Because I nearly burnt my 03 GTs tranny after powerbraking to launch at 2600 rpm and held too long. Heat baked the tranny fluid and popped the upper feeder line.

I am a tad nervous, but I will wait and see how Scrming does with his set up before I do anything to mine. Thanks for the answer and yes, a stack radiator/cooler set-up is better than cooler alone.

I talked with Lidio yesterday about the tranny cooler... he seems to feel the stock one is more than adequate for both the v6 and v8...
