Well I found my AC R134a leak. I bought some Walmart R134a with the dye in it and added it to the system. I then saw some smoke coming off of the passenger side after it ran a bit with the compressor cycling. Well, I look around a bit and saw green puking out all over the ground. At first I thought it was coolant, but then I noticed it was coming out of an AC line. Yeah, that yellowy UV dye actually worked in finding a leak lol.

Well, I looked at the line in question and its the one that goes from the condenser to the firewall. It appears to be all metal, with only some foam insulation in spots. I took off the insulation in one spot (after I took these pics) and noticed it was super rusty and scaley. So I guess that is why a hole formed.

So, where can I get this line? Is there a special name for it? (High pressure line, ect..)

Apparently my ex-husband made that mistake.

It's one of two high pressure lines. It's readily available through an autoparts store. Make sure you get that expensive cleaner stuff and try and clear out as much of that dye as you can. It's hard on the compressor.

i had to replace that line myself too. my previous owner left it on top of the passenger side header and burnt it up! i managed to get mine from my ford parts counter. this was like a year ago.

you are correct. ordered one at Pep Boys today and it should be here in a few business days. $35! Sweet! Got the R134a from Big Lots for $5 a can too lol.

Dealer wanted $117. Ouch. At least I got my air deflector from the dealer for cheap. So it balances it out.

Success!

It was nasty! Special thanks to my buddy Pete again for kicking ass and getting it working.

Don't think it hasn't crossed my mind lol. I'm just glad that the car is to the point that the only thing on it that doesn't work right now is the passenger side visor light. Everything else on the car works now. Hell yeah!

It's all I got. IIRC, 45K original mile car and bone stock. Friend is working on it because of some excessive crank endplay. I guess they were 45K HARD miles lol.

I should have taken pics of Pete's Syclone. That's a pretty fun truck.
