Need advice about 91 GT i want to buy

ok im thinking about bidding on this car. Ive been looking for another fox body mustang after i sold my last one.

Anyway i like this one but I am very weary. First of all, a Cobra GT????? It sounds like a scam but when i carfax'd it, it came up as:

Looks pretty good...but Cobra GT? I've never heard of that. That is truly starange.

THats what i said. Why would the carfax say that as well? The rest of the carfax report came up clean except it was in an accident in 2002..im going to call the owner...

Hell no! No way am I buyin a car from someone that registered the same day they listed the car. I'm just not that trusting of an individual.

1. The hood sucks

2. The interior has stains

3. The engine bay is nothing spectacular

4. Color change on car that was not done correctly, BOO!!!

5. Seller states it's "chromed out". Where the **** is the chrome?

6. It's not even worth the starting bid price if you ask me.

7. The only real thing going for it is that it's a 5 speed and it's leak free and solid (if he's being honest)

gt's that were sold in canada were marketed as cobra's. of course being in GA would nix that. it almost seems that every mustang part on ebay now says saleen/cobra/gt next to the title. kinda pisses me off.

all aside it looks like an el cheapo gt with a half assed paint job. I wouldnt pay more than 3k for a car in that condition. that was assuming that it runs decently any knocks or misses when I fire it up and the price will nose dive like a 747 without wings.

I just sent the seller a question
"where is all the chrome? why is the engine bay still white? any other engine upgrades other than yellow plug wires?"
I'll post his answer if he gives one.

Not a great car, but i've seen worse.
My biggest concern is that his credibility is shot with his description. If he is willing to lie a little, he's willing to lie alot.
Really, i'd say he knows nothing about the car, why not mention aftermarket CC plates, Headers, shift lite, or whatever that monster power cable is running.
Instead he says he has a cold mass air setup, which appears to be an undersized filter that sucks in hot air.
And as for i do enjoy family guy, i'm not sticking stewy to my dash board either.

Not worth $3500 to me, and with how the market for foxes is changing, if it were worth an actual $3500, someone local would of bought it already. Because that's a fairly low price.

I thought '90 and newer Mustangs had airbags. This shows a GrantGT steering wheel in one pic and a wheel from an 87-89 in another. I'd pass on this piece of crap and walk before I'd spend 3.5k+.

When I put my vin # in a yahoo search it too comes back as a GT/Cobra, I think most do say this. At least mine does, body wise it looks pretty good, in one pic it has a good bushing in the driver strut in the other the bushing is shot, and the cc plate is missing a nut on the driver side.

thats how gt trim cars are registered, gt/cobra. any guy who ownes a legit gt will tell you this. i've owned 8 foxes, 3 of them gt's and they were all regestered like that

pretty much, right there on the title says mustang gt/cobra

moms 90 says it and my 91 says it...

All my old foxes, 89, 90 and 92 all said GT/Cobra on the title. Cant remember if the 84 did

here is the reply I got from the seller when I asked him about some of his discrepencies.
" My dad put the mustang on ebay he made a couple of mistakes no upgrades to the motor exept for headers i kept the engine bay white because i was puttin a custom paint for that but dont have time thanks"
they are obviously willing to lie about things that are highly visible. I wouldnt be surprised if the miles were off and the car wouldnt run. The fact that the engine bay wasnt painted also makes me think that perhaps other items like the door jambs and inside of the trunk are also not painted.

a 1500 dollar car at most.
