Well, the problem is, I dont have many mods yet, but I drive it like I stole it sometimes...so basically I want it to hold up well for years to come.

$300 is not steep for a used t-5. Most junk yards want 350 to 400 for them

The Gears themselves are shot, 1-3rd is gone, had to drive about mile starting and driving in 4th

THIS IS WHAT HE E-mailed me, without redoing the Gears themselves, will it survive some punishment?

Hello, The tranny was rebuilt with a D&D 102 piece rebuild kit These are the parts that were replaced
1st and 2nd three piece synchronizer rings
3rd and 4th kevlar synchronizer rings
brass 5th synchronizer ring
front and rear seals
rear tail housing bushing
input roller bearings
all main shaft gear bearings
all main shaft bearings
all countershaft bearings
shift fork pads
front bearing preload shims
synchronizer keys and retaining rings
shifter bushing
snap rings
spacer washers
1st gear bearing sleeve

The only gear replaced was revearse gear. All the other gears were fine. Tranny hasnt even been installed after rebuild, decided not to convert to 5 speed. Left the AOD in the car. I live in washington state

Sounds like it's been built right , if the gears aren't worn then there is no point in replcing them, unless you are going with a hardened gear set.

Well that rebuild kit runs around $170 and is very nice, I have used it in the past, comes with good bearings and upgraded syncros...sounds like the tranny is ready to go.

To do yours it would cost you over $550 in parts (new imput, counter shaft, 2nd/3rd gear cluster, master rebuild kit) plus labor to build it, I charge $250 for that.
