Mach 1 need advice guys

I am faced with a dilemna here folks. I have a 97 cougar with the 4.6L. great car, nice ride, leather etc. i want to get some power into it, but then again i am eyeing the 03-04 Mach 1. I know htis seems like a no brainer, but I was curious how much you like the Mach. i love the styling in and out. to get the power i want out of my car i was looking into a vortec 6-8 psi kit and some basic mods, about 5K all in all. now thats a lot of money to me to make 300 hp to the wheels.
i just got an internship with siemens vdo so i have a good paycheck finally comming in and i am getting my credit straight. would you recomend holding off on modding my car and trading it in on a 03 Mach 1 with a 5K down payment? i have been thinking on this for some time and would appreciate your input. thanks.

New 04's can be had for 25k and with just catbacks and a catted X such as Magna Flow you can get real close to 300RWHP with full warranty. I loved my 03 so much I brought another, everything from engine to brakes are A1.

If your a HP chaser the Cobra or Blown car can be faster than a modded NA car but it's must be watched and kept in tune or bye bye car. If your not a full time drag racer and you need a fast street car with a nice ride that's fun this is it not the Cobra. This car is hard to beat at a stoplight and looks great. They are going fast and are only here for a few more months and they'll be gone.

The 05 is another option but I wanted a proven engine and aftermarket parts and like the Mach's better than an 05. But it's all personal taste........

Go with the Mach. Hard to find a car that runs a 13.1 stock and mid 12s with minor bolt ons and tires, and it looks sweet too!

yeah im in the same boat. im going to sell my car 98 gt vert and get me another car. im was going to get a 05 but the more pics I see the more i dont like it. the hood is bland and the mufflers out the back is like a import.

But i will get a used car then. i want to get a mach or 01 cobra. still batting between these two. i like the idea of svt because of rarer but the styling of the mach is cool

if i get a mach is will be a yellow or orange.

btw i was thinking 03 cobra until i called and got a quote on insurance.

i htink the 05 is sweet looking, but the Mach is bad ass. love the hood/interior and of course the motor. would you recomend a mach over the GT ( I knwo the answer already ) lol but why?

5 Limited Edition car rarly seen like my 02 GT
6. Will hold it's value better than a GT with all the deals right now
7. Future demand
8. Best brakes I've ever had on any car
9. Aftermarket parts easy to get

My mistake was buying the 02 GT in the first place it wasn't that much faster than my 87 GT but man the Mach's and Cobra's are awesome this 4V motor really winds to redline.
