Well a buddy of mine added boost to his 02 gt and has now bent a rod after a bit of spirited driving Ran quick We know want to build the bottomend up. Would he be okay with adding some forged pistons/rods? Would he have to touch the crank (power level okay) and the block is fine right?

Any suggestions where to get the rod/pistons?

It will have 8psi lbs of boost...and eventually h/c/i. What do you all think that run this?

Thanks

what about goin to the 306 stroker kit with forged crank, rods, pistons. would that be okay with the supercharger or would the compression be to high?

VT has some nice looking shortblocks..

I'm curious, what sort of boost did you guys add to his '02? What kit, etc? What actually happened that resulted in the bent rod?

we installed a procharger p-1sc, 2 core intercooler, 8 psi, 42lbs injectors, svt focus fuel pump. The car leaned out, due to bad gas i am sure. As soon as i noticed it leaning out i pushed the clutch in, but it was to late. i noticed a knocking noise and a miss. I got out and u can tell it is a rod knocking.

Well actually no i hadn't, i was set up to go one day this week, but i didn't make it. The chip had already been tuned before i put it in my car, it was on a car identical to mine and the guy spent $600 to get it dynoed and tuned. Which i will know next time that right when i get it on then i need to go get it tuned, but i didn't this time and there is nothing i can do so o well. Gives me a reason to get a stroker kit and forged pistons, rods, crank.
