Need advice on new delima

I personally prefer a nice interior as opposed to a nice paint job. The paint doesn't keep you comfortable when you're driving. However, if you go ahead and get the paint done, then you can put all the weatherstripping in and not worry about having to pull it out later to do the paint. That means less whistles as you go down the road.

I'm in the process of doing paint first and interior a close second. The reason being for me is from experience it's less expensive in the long run. 66 Mustang interior kits are a couple hundred dollars depending on what you want done. I'm actually having my headliner done right after the paint for the simple fact that the windows are out and it's easier to handle that way. Now if you don't need a headliner you are ahead of the game. From my experience the clean up following a paint job is crazy. My brothers Chevelle, Blazer x 2, Mustang, and F350 were all the same...Overspray, Dust, Compound, and pretty much anything else related to painting gets EVERYWHERE. There is nothing like installing a brand new carpet kit and interior into a car and getting it back pretty much destroyed. My brothers Chevelle's carpet was so messed up we are just going to redo it because nothing can get all the overspray off. We spent a day or 2 putting his interior in and more than a week getting everything cleaned after paint, that's time that could have been spent elsewhere. I guess it all depends on what you are looking for. I myself don't need to drive my car as a daily driver so I opted for looks over comfort.
