Need advice on Sumitumo HTR Z 315's

I am buying a supercharged 2001 Bullitt tomorrow that has a set of 315 Nitto 555 DRs on 10.5" Bullitt replicas on the back. This is going to be a daily driver for me so I need something that will last longer than the Nittos but still have good traction. Has anyone on here used Sumitumo HTR Z's in this size? If so, would you recommend them? Tirerack has an awesome sale on these right now... I can get two of them for the price of one of any other brand. The reviews I read on there said they were good tires but I wanted to hear some opinions from people on here before I buy them. If you dont recommend them what brand should I go with?

I think they suck, at least compared to a drag radial. I have had nitto and bfg dr's they don't have any traction what so ever, there is a reason they have been marked down so much...jmo

Yea I know I'm not going to get the same amount of traction out of regular tires but I can't run DRs all the time. I drive entirely too much to have them plus I don't like the fact the tread depth is so shallow. It rains a lot around here.

Another question:
What kind of mileage do you get out of any tires you suggest?

i just gor some 2 weeks ago.....look nice and seem fine, have not tortured them yet.....????

If you don't plan on doing any racing with the Sumi's they'll be fine. If you race them or do a bunch of burnouts and heat them up a few times they'll harden and have crap for traction. Trust me, I have a set of Sumi HTRZ II's on the back of my car that are like driving in the rain even on a nice, dry, sunny day.

If you do a lot of driving and need good traction I would say the tire is going to get a lot more expensive, having a power adder you need a decent tire to get the power to the ground. Maybe someone else knows of a good tire for you. I would do a search as well, I know this has been asked many times.

SUMITOMOS SUCK!! I have the 315/35s and they suck big time. They make alot of road noise and traction is horrible with these tires I wish i would have just saved up more money first and got some Nitto's.

I had a set on my old 04 GT and just ordered a set for my 98 to go on my deep dish FR500. For they money they are an awesome deal. I ordered 4 tires shipped with tax the bill was $425. (315 and 245).

They certainly wont hook as well as a DR but they hook well enough for my driving style and they are great in the rain especially for the size. I have driven in good size downpours at near normal speeds in my old 04 with no issues at all.

I've had 2 sets so far and I've never had problems in the rain. When this set wears out I buy them again.

I just put that same size Sumitomo on, and found that I can light up the rears just as easily now as I could with my stock Goodyear's. I didn't buy them for their traction abilities though.

If your car is blown this is really a moot point. I have Goodyear F1 GSD3's on my car (not particularly cheap tires) and they dont hook for cr@p. First is totally useless, and second has to be totally feathered and throttled to not break loose. In the rain third is also useless. I am going to be switching to BFG drag radials when spring roles around.

I may just have to stick with the DRs... It spins them a lot of the time in second if I floor it around 3 grand but its freezing cold outside right now too though. Any thoughts on the BFGoodrich KD's? Those were gonna be my second choice.
