I have a 96 GT and have started to hear a noise coming from under the car. The squeaking noise is constant when I accelerate from a stop and through second gear. It is not as noticeable in third and fourth, but is still there. It seems to only occur when I press down on the gas. My mechanic first thought it was my wheel bearings. $50 later it seems that wasn’t the case. He now thinks its my drive shaft, however.... He puts the car on a lift and accelerates the engine, spinning the tires. No noise! But when you run the car on the street the noise is there. So I guess I am really looking for all your thoughts. And if it is the drive shaft why wouldn’t the noise be there while it was on the lift? Sorry so long, but I appreciate the advice.
