If you want to do a shipping container...just buy a pallet and build a crate around it.

Why dont you call some international freight companies.

When I exported my car, I used an US based, Swedish shipping company called California Shipping. I shipped from LA. It costed me ca $1300. (To Oslo)
The container my car came in contained four cars.

having made 3 trans-Atlantic moves that included an entire household (with 1200 lbs of olympic weights and bells), three dogs, three parrots and two cars, I have some experience in such matters.

If you are just shipping parts, call around to the various shipping companies that you find in the yellow pages and get quotes for an overseas container. These are just large wooden boxes you pack your stuff in, maybe 8-9 ft high, 10 ft long, and 6-7 ft. wide. These in turn get consolidated in a container (much like the trailer behind a big rig). There will be some lag time between the time your stuff gets boxed and consolidated, could be up to 4 weeks depending on how busy the ports are. Things are pretty busy right now on the East coast. It will be cheaper if you bring the stuff to the shipper rather than have them come and collect it. Get the cheapest quote, don't forget about insurance, and that is that. I am guessing duty on used parts will run 10%. Whether VAT is due I don't know. It is just that simple. If you are shipping a car, my mustang went from PA to Euroland for USD 1070 using CFR lines.
