How do you tell GT40's from a 94-95 Cobra apart form E7's? I know it's probably been beat to death but my cars are supposed to have Iron gt40's, but I can't find gt40 on the head anywhere.

Nevermind, I found it. Apparently I have a set of ported E7's. I'm pissed now.

sorry to hear that your pissed, but if the port job is any good, they could perform as well as the GT-40 P's (the cast, not aluminum) if not better, to learn more, go to the THUMPER web site, and learn about ported THUMPER E7 heads!!

To eliminate whether it's an e7 head, you can pull a valve cover and look for 'E7TE' cast somewhere (I'm pretty sure it's under the valve cover). Not sure what numbers a GT40 has, but they are supposed to have 'vertical bars' that run up the ends of the head. Good luck.

Sorry to hear that. The problem with ported heads is that they are only as good as the person who ports them.

"E7TE" isn't under the valve cover... It's actually on the bottom of the head inbetween exhaust ports.
