Need AOD shifter advice

I am putting an AOD in my 79 that has a C4. It has the original stock rod activated Ford shifter.

Will this shifter work with the AOD?

I asked a couple vendors, and they did not know. They said they use the stock AOD cable with a B&M. I don't have an AOD cable. I do have another C4 shifer with a C4 cable setup. Will this one work?

What have any of you used?

The AOD shifter cable is set over a threaded stud and held on with a nut on the shifter rod.

The C4 shifter cable is set over a plain stud and held on with a push in clip that is built into the shifter rod.

Both the C4 and AOD shifter bases are the same and will bolt down to the trans tunnel.

Both shifters can be used vise versa, but I just had two right next to each other to answer this and I know they can be used. The studs are the same diameter so you will just have to use either a clip or a nut to hold it one depending on the what you have handy.
