Hey all...

i was wondering if anyone knew how close these http://store1.yimg.com/I/mustangtuning_1839_1511765 wheels were to the stock 03/04 color bullitt wheels...

from what i've read and seen, they changed the color in 03 to more like this one... from the picture it looks just like my 04... anyone know if theres any truth to that?

reason im asking, i cant afford all 4 wheels right now... and if i can just keep the stock 17x8's up front, and put these on back, i'd be really happy...

thanks in advance for the help!

From what i have read from other fourms the Deep Dish should match your 04 rims just fine.. I thought about doing the same but my 2002 rims dont match...You 03/04 guys are lucky.

I prefer the thin crust version. Not deep dish. Anyone know if those match?

One thing not mentioned is that the aftermarket Bullitts all have a polished lip whereas the stock Bullitts regardless of year have a machined lip.

Yeah, but the color of the wheel is actually different. I think it might match the 03 and 04's, but definetly not the older ones.

Yup, as others have already said, the color on stock Bullitts changed for 2003/2004. The aftermarket Bullitts match the 2003/2004 color. But, the lips will not match no matter what year. As I said, stock Bullitts have a machined lip and aftermarket Bullitts have a polished lip.

I'm in a similar boat...I dont want to run 9 inch wheels in the front because I have 275's on my wheels now and I rub the fenderwell. I wanted to keep my stock wheels up front and get 10's in the back. i posted a similar thread awhile back and got no replies. Is there any way to polish the stock lip?

is there any way i can just use a metal polish on the lip of the stock ones and make them just as shiny (or at least closer) to the deep dishers?

BTW i just ordered the rears!

yes the color is different my dad has a 02 gt and i have a 04, his wheels have bigger metalfake and are more silver while mine are more charcoal, i actually just bought 2 new rears for my drag radials and i ordered them in the color charcoal from summit racing, they are they exact color, so im guessing the 01-02 wheels would be listed as silver

Post pics if you can.

That comes up as a Ford Racing 2001 Special Edition Mustang GT Wheels 17x8. Are you sure that's the one you ordered? I'm not trying to insult you. It just bothers me that it says 2001. Do you know if they have other sizes besidex 17x8?

Just be careful where u get them. I ordered a set of 17x10.5 from http://customwheelsmarket.com/. I have an 04' and they said that the color was almost identicle. The guy must have been color blind cause they were about 3 shades lighter, even had some slight swirls. Was very pissed, sent them back, minus shipping and a 25% restocking fee. It all worked out cause I ended up with all chrome from a reputable dealer!

Go here www.cardomain.com/id/04gtstang and check out mine. I think they look pretty good. Colour matches pretty well too. I got mine from www.partshopper.com and they were in GREAT condition. They were made by www.wheelreplicas.com . If you let a little dust build up, the rear lip looks the same as the front LOL. Hope that helps.
