Okay everyone i need some help figuring out the stock color of the 1988 convertible mustang sun visors. Ive been having a lot of trouble finding the color of them. Hopefully someone can help. My other random question is people's opinions on underdrive pulleys. All input is appreciated. Thanks

most of them are black leather or the same color as the rest of the interior. I would also imagine underdrive pulleys do a horrible job as sunvisors.

My interior is a sort of light blue ish grey color but ive heard from a couple people that the sun visors in all convertibles are supposed to be black. I just want to see if a lot of people on the forums say the same. As for the underdrive pulleys lol at the comment but if course i meant performance wise

The visors in our old 84 were grey, same as interior. But the visors in our 87 are black, the interior is sand beige. I don't know if all verts after a certain date had black visors or anything. I bet you could get away with them being black as long as your windshield frame is also black.

My windshield frame is black so it does seem like the standard is having black sun visors for the convertibles. Still looking for answers about underdrive pulleys if anyone has thoughts or opinions.

I have never had any luck with underdrive pullies on a street car. Charging system suffers, car overheats, I have tried them twice. Took them off both times.

U/D pulleys do a better job AS sunvisors than adding performance

On my 90 with white interior, the underside of the top is black, and so are the visors.

Smoke gray interior but have black visors in my 89. Also pulleys are not worth it to me, took them out after awhile.

So the consensus here is starting to seem like black is what the standard color of sun visors were on convertibles upon release and i most likely recieved the car with replacements because i also have a smoke grey interior. As far as the pulleys go also not seeming like a god idea. I have 4.10 gears in the car already. Im going to replace the stock clutch fan and rad with a mishimoto dual electric fan and aluminum rad. Any other thoughts on upgrades possibly within budget?

what is wrong with the stock clutch fan? They pull over 3000CFM. IF you decide to replace it, I would highly recommend

1. upgrade to a 130amp 3g alternator
2. get a taurus fan from a mid 90's v6. They pull well over 3000 CFM and fit perfect- see pic below.
3. get a Flex a lite 33054 fan controller

This will set you back anywhere from 200-400 depending on if you buy new or used.

if you are looking for a set of black leather sunvisors, pm me.

I think after 90 they came in black. Ford retooled all the upper interior to black around that point.

Im currently running a 3g alternator so i got that part covered has anyone had any experiences with mishimoto rads and dual electric fans at all or am i out of luck on that? Keep in mind im also located in canada and its hard to find decent quality parts in the scrapyards out here that still work decently
