I bought a 75mm mass air flow sensor last year at Ford Nationals in Carlisle, PA from the swap meet. I bought it thinking it would work, however I'm not so sure. I'm building a 306 with Trickflow heads, Trickflow stage 1 cam, T-Moss ported cobra intake, and all the supporting mods including 24# injectors. My motor is now complete and I'm getting ready to swap it in this year.

I bought a Pro Flow 75mm maf sensor calibrated for 24# injectors. The model # PFT-77, serial #960586. It also says conical scratched on the label. Because it says conical, I have second thoughts on whether it would work for my setup since I have a 92 Mustang and I'm using the BBK fenderwell cold air intake setup. I have the 90degree elbow tube that will attached directly to the maf and the air filter will be in the fenderwell. I'm assuming that this maf sensor I have is only for the air filter cone attached to the sensor itself. I've heard that people who try to do this have problems with idling issues or not running properly.

I called Pro M racing since they were Pro Flow back in the day. The guy I spoke to said it probably wouldn't work and that it sounds like someone put a 75mm chrome housing on the 77mm computer chip.

My question is does this sound right and will it work? If not, I was going to try to return the maf sensor to the same guy at his parts stand this year since I'm going to Ford Nationals tomorrow. Maybe I can exchange it for another 1 that I know will work or just get my money back. I appreciate any and all help that I can get. Thanks.
