i need a an engine bolt kit for my 89 302 i found the one in the link from summit but it only has it listed up till 87. i called the summit tech line and they told me that it says that ARP has it listed that 88 thru 93 may require additional fasteners. im guessing they mean for the a/c and p/s. my question is this: will the bolts that are included in this set work for an 89?

I don't see why not.
Not much changed between 87 and 89, atleast not that would affect engine bolts.
Why not just get your bolts from a junk yard or local hardware store?
There isn't much need for ARP intake manifold bolts. Grade 8's from your local hardware store would do just as well.
If nothing else you could call ARP and ask why they don't recommend the kit past '89.
