THE CLUTCH CABLE KEEPS COMING LOOSE OFF THE QUADRANT.
BACK GROUND: 91 VERT WAS ORIGINALLY AN AUTO. WHEN I GOT IT A TREMEC 3550 WAS IN IT. IT HAS A STEEDA QUADRANT, CABLE AND FIRE WALL ADJUSTER. THE CONVERTION AT THE FIREWALL WAS KIND OF SHOTTY AND THERE WAS ALOT OF GIVE IN THE FIREWALL. A SPOT WELD BROKE, WHILE I WAS DRIVING IN TOWN, CAUSING THE CABLE TO COME LOOSE. I FABBED A NEW, THICKER PLATE FOR THE ADJUSTER AND INSTALLED IT. I PLACED THE CABLE ON THE LAST NOTCH IN THE QUADRANT AND RAN THE ADJUSTER OUT. FIRST THE ADJUSTER HAS TO BE RUN OUT MUCH FURTHER THAN BEFORE TO GET THE CABLE TIGHT. AFTER THE ADJUSTMENT, I FOUND THAT THE CABLE LOOSENS UP EVERYTIME THE CLUTCH PEDAL IS PUSHED AND AFTER ABOUT 10 TIMES THE CABLE COMES OFF THE QUADRANT AGAIN. PLEASE HELP ME FIGURE OUT WHAT IS WRONG OR WHAT I DID WRONG. DO I NEED A NEW CABLE OR WHAT ELSE COULD IT BE?
