I just got my engine running and only have 10 miles on it? The 1.72 svo pedestal roller rockers are a little loud. I cant hear them unless I get my ear near the valve cover, then its pretty loud. Has any body else had this problem. Is this normal for roller rockers or 5.0? I know that thier shimmed right so I dont know what it would be. The roller rockers are sitting on top of a pair Afr 165's with the 600 lift springs and valves. Also Iam only running .512 Lift with the 1.7 roller rockers. Any suggestions???

Do you have new lifters as well? Did you prime them? If not, run it a few minutes and they should come around. If you didn't change lifters then you may need to re-adjust the rockers. If they still make noise, a lifter may have failed due to the extra stress.

I had a problem with the rockers being noisey after i installed them. I went back through them all and found one was loose and two others were borderline loose. I re-adjusted them all and went with a 1/2 turn instead of a 1/4 and it fixed the problem.

.512 lift....are you running an F cam?

If so, did you have to notch your pistons to clear with those 1.72's? or not?

I have had both pedestal mount 1.7 Crane Gold and Crane Cobra and 7/16" stud mount 1.6 rockers Comp Cam Pro Magnum with polylocs and they all make noise. Sounds like a sewing machine.

ASCE certified mechanic and engine builder put all three sets on. Old 347 stroker had 25,000 miles and the R304 has 18,000 and no problems. take them both to 6000 all day long.

Rocker chatter. Pretty Common. Double check your rockers and make sure their still tight. Also, what kind of valve cover are you using? Are the rockers possibly hitting the covers? Just a thought..........

that happened to me the valve covers where not tall enough for the ford racing 1.6 roller rockers i installed Dauuu not funny
