with the spout out your setting the base timing. Make sure

A: the car is off
b: remove the spout
C: start car , use timing light set at 10*, LOCK down the distrubter!
D:doublt check the timing with the spout out and dizzy locked down
E:turn car off, plug spout back in
F:Turn car on and your Base timing is now Set at 10*

after the spout is back in, the timing will jump all over the place, its now being computer controlled. Your computer already advances timing to make power...advancing the base timing is just some *fine* tuning.

the spout connecter is the chip you dissconect to set your base timing. when you plug this back in the computer will advance the timing and control it from there on.

coming from the TFI module on the distributor there is a harness with like 4 or 5 wires... about 2 or 3 inches out there is a little two wire connector that just hangs there... the spout is the piece that connects into that. just grab it and pull and it will come out.
