I pulled the window tint off today but there is some glue stuck on the windows. What can I use to get it off?

No doubt someone will say use Goo-Gone, but you will be using a lot of what ever you do use, so save yourself some money and buy riubbing alchohol. It'll do the same thing. Now.....the job that lays ahead will suck, so prepare yourself for that.
I spent about 10 hours cleaning the 1/4 window and rear window on my 1998 GT after removing the window tint the previous owner had installed. IT sucked and it concreated that I'll never put that crap on my windows.

Thanks for the help. I already made a mess trying glass cleaner. I have been meaning to pull the tint off for a while. I don't like the window tint either. I was cleaning the back seat and noticed that one of the tints was peeling. So I tried pulling it. Next thing I knew, it was off all five windows.

I'm an auto detailer, at work for removing tint we just use window cleaner and a razor blade. Wet the window down with the cleaner then scrape at it. it should tend to clump together and not to the window. You can then use a towel to rub off the rest. I wouldn't use a microfiber towel, cause you'll never get it clean again. Should come right off no problem.

I had good luck with very soapy water. Used Dawn its messy but seemed to cut through the glue better than anything else I tried. Good Luck
I think I will try the alchohol first. If that doesn't work, the soapy water. I don't want to use the razor blade cause I don't want to scratch my windows.
Anybody use that Armour All with Oxi-Clean on their interior? I tried some of that today. Damn, it made my interior smell like cleaning solvents.

The only way the razor will scratch your window is if you catch the corners of it. Trust me its safe to use. 
I have a buddy who used to work in a tint shop. He says they took cling wrap or cheap trash bags and sprayed them down with window cleaner (ammonia and water, mostly water) and stuck them to the windows. Then they let the car sit in the sun for 30 min and it peels off really easy with most of the glue still on the tint. I havent tried that yet, and its too late for you. Has anyone else heard of this? I need to take mine off.

I would mention the laquer thinner but if you get ONE drop on the door panel it is ruined. It works great, but wouldnt a heat gun and some soapy water do something with a plstic spatula, especially for the rear window. I just got a heat gun and it takes anything sticky off if done right.

I have used WD-40 for many years and it works like a charm! That along with a good new razor and it softens it up and comes right off.

Yeah that does work but its only really helpful for removing the tint from the back glass, since its so big. Also, it doesnt work all the time, but you might get lucky. And it has to be EXTREMELY ****in hot, like so hot you can hardly touch it. I just quit my job in window tinting after a year, and the best thing to remove the glue from door glasses is to use a paint scraper. Its alot easier than just an open blade. Also, if theres some glue left over, which there most likely will be, buy some fine steel wool, and I mean VERY fine, like 0000 or 000 at most. Spray down the glue with windex and have fun wiping your ass off (no pun intended).

hah.... funny topic.... my car when i bought it had purple tint..... yes purple tint.... i took the tint off but then i was stuck with the glue on the big ol hatch, i wasnt about to use a little razor on the big ol hatch, so me being the smart kid that i was used sand paper! it was a real light grit, but needless to say i have a nice scratched window now... u can see it because i got it re tinted... just thought i'd let everyone in on my stupidity

The glue stinks. It is making the whole car smell. I have been using the WD40 and steel wool (0000). It is working great, but just taking time. Probably going to be about an hour a window. Record cold temperatures probably are not helping. We have heaters in the garage, but they are only on when I am in there.
