would you guys rather buy a 2004 black mach1, with only 25,000 miles on it or get the 2005 mustang gt. which one you think is nicer? i look at both and so far i love the lines on the mach1, also which one is the faster car in stock form. thanks for any opinions.

I would get the Mach . You get the DOHC, its faster, and responds to mods better. I think Mach1s look way better than a 05 GT too.

the new 3vs respond pretty damn well to mods too. give them credit where its due!

however id still get the mach, only cuz i personally wouldnt want an 05, it was the first year for the new model and engine to come out so there could be problems. i dont know any off hand right now, only because i do not follow problems related tot he new style. there could just as well not be any at all. but that doesnt mean there wont be later on down the road. then again how different could they have changed things in one year?

basically it comes down to what you are most comfortable with. a 2004 mach is the last year of that body style...the majority of the kinks have been addressed in that car. this is something that you can be most confident about

-----------
this is just my honest opinion however, go with what you are most comfortable with

Im gunna go against the grain here and say go for the 05+ GT

Power aside, in which they are both very similar the 05+'s are so much more refined the the SN95's built on a Foxbody platform. The suspension, ride quality, just about all of the above is better on the new 05+ platform. If you can dish out the cash go for the 05+.... the only problem with them is they are butt ugly in stock form. It would take some cash to get it looking decent IMHO.

i looked at the 05 gt but the car seems lacking something i cant put my finger on it, it has a flat hood, no side scoops, seems very plain to me and big for nothing but like the fact that its new on the road, but when i look at the mach i see scoops allover the place, more racy looking and this thing is black so it looks really nice and aggressive, but its the older body style, everyone tells me it is faster than the new gt, stock for stock which is a bonus as i am not looking to do anyhing major to it if i buy it, i think i am getting the mach to be honest with you,i just like to hear opinions and feel good about my purchase i guess, will see. and both are exactly the same price by the way so it is not the price factor.

Hmmmm......sounds like you have yourself quite the situation. The Mach has the 4 cam motor, responds just as good to mods as the 05 and has the potential makings of a classic 20 to 25 years from now (not to say that the 05 doesnt). For the most part the bugs are worked out of the 99 to 04 Stangs but the 05 might be a different animal (although as I say that the Mach might turn out to be a POS and the 05 might be the jewel).

I didnt say the 3v dont respond well to mods all I said and ment was the the 4v is gonna respond alot better. Especially if he would add a blower.

Plus Ive drove both a 05+ GT and our 07 Shelby and my 04 GT and I must say I still like the way my 04 GT drives better. The newer Mustangs, as said already, are almost more a comfort ride than a sport ride. I think the Mach wins hands down in every way. It looks better than the 05 GT, performs better, and I personally think the Mach is alot more fun to drive.

Tough situation.......The Machs look sick and is a great car all around.....Could be a classic....But I think if u dont get the 05 then you'll regret it....the potential with those things is crazy and with a few cosmetic changes it looks better than any Sn95 IMO

Sheeeeit.

I'd buy the '05, even though I think they are ugly as ****.. and for one reason:

Because you can get a rear mount single turbo kit for it from STS for like 3500 bucks, spend 8 hours installing it, and then drive around in your ugly ass car smoking every ****ing Mustang you can find, without even thinking about it.

mach 1, looks matter too. i say equally as much as speed if its a street car. what good is a fast car if it looks like crap? not that i think that about the 05, i just mean in general. thats like the civic and neon guys, put the juice on and its still beat looking and you are not going to pull girls.

not to mention the mach is a bit faster anyway.

Get the friggin' Mach. I test drove an '05 GT just for the heck of it and aside from nice power, it was fugly inside and out I thought. The biggest pu$$y clutch I ever felt in my life!! And that E-brake is rediculous looking. Power and beauty together, you can't beat the Mach. Plus, the '05+ are a dime a dozen. I rarely see Machs around here except at car shows.
