Okay I had a serious diff cover leak, due to the last owner installing new gears and putting the cover back on with a thin bead of silicone! so I put a new gasket and silicone so I know it wont leak... here is my problem

the rear of the car is on jack stands. how do I get the oil into the diff with the car jacked up? the oil plug/bolt is in the upper left hand part of the front of the diff and there is no way I can get the gear lube in there.

You buy a lube pump and squirt it in until it drips back out.
Gear oil is thick, so it will have to be a gearlube pump or similar.

Put a piece of water hose over the snout on the bottle, put the other end in the diff, and squeeze! May have to do the majority of each bottle, then combine the remainders in one, and finish, but that's how I done mine.

Pour it in your mouth and then "spit" it in the diff.

LMAO...Or jack the car up by the frame instead of the axle...Just put a hose on the bottle, put the hose in the diff, and snake the bottle so it's above that point and let her flow. That's how I refil my trans too...

The easiest way is to buy a little pump. The second easiest way I found was to pour the oil into the little traction modifier bottle and sqirt it into the hole using the smaller bottle. Less of a mess that way.

I use an old squeezable mustard jar with a thin tip that fits right in the hole. Just keep refilling and squeeze it in. Very simple

I just bought a little pump from NAPA for $12. Works great. Might be a good idea to jack up the front of the car too so it's level if you haven't done so already to make sure you're getting the proper fluid level.

For direct access to the hole, you really should have the frame on stands and let the axle hang down. it makes life SO much easier whether your filling by bottle or pump.

Use what ever wrench will fit the plug, and fit a 2 - 4ft section of pipe over it.... Cheater bars fix everything

Yep. Spray it with some PB or something first and let it sit. You really don't wanna strip that thing out. Then you're ****ed. Lube always helps in a tight situation.

to get the plug out use a 3/8 drive extension without a socket on it. It's a square head plug. just slide extension into it and turn.
