Hey everyone,

I am in the middle of my header install and have a really dumb question. I purchased felpro 1415 for the gaskets, but need to know which way they are supposed to be facing. One side is blank and flat, and the other has the part number and "Felpro" on it.

Thanks everyone!

OK well I installed them with the felpro numbers facing the headers...........fired the car up and it sounded like ass.....a lot of smoke.........and when I hit the throttle the car would stumble badly........BTW I'm running FMS shorties with felpro 1415. Did I do something wrong?

Makes no dif which way they go... If there still leaking try backing them off some and then snug a little at a time on each....
I actually run (2) 1415 Fel-pros on mine... had some little piss leak so i just doubled em up....

cool thanks a lot for the info! I backed them out and tightened again, this time it was still loud as hell but the miss was gone. Still lots of smoke smelling like burnt ass, too But it idles rock solid so I'm guessing there is no leak. I guess I didn't expect the exhaust to change so much going from the stockers/bbk o/r h combo to this.

did you tighten the ones on the end first and then work inward alterating front to back??? Did you make sure ALL the old gasket material was gone first?? just a couple things to think about. Keep us up to date on it

no, I worked my way from the inside out...........was that wrong? Also, when I pulled the OEM stuff off the gasket came off clean, so I didn't bother with cleaning it. Well I drove it last night, and it has a massive leak coming from both sides. It sounds like an old pick up truck I'm going to recheck the connection at the collecters/hpipe, because that is the only place that didn't seem to match up well during the install.

Thanks everyone for you help!

Double check to make sure it's not coming off the collector too, sometimes if you don't have the h-pipe lined up good it won't seal correctly, not real common, but it does happen. If that's not the case, you might wanna pull them off and double check everything

I had to delete the EGR because I'm using fox style headers
