I've narrowed my car problem down to the #3 injector. I'm ready to replace it but I'm having problems relieving the fuel pressure. My manual says to disconnect the inertia switch and then start the car and let it burn up the fuel that's in the system. The problem is that my car won't start with the switch disconnected. I've also tried disconnecting the switch while the car is running and it just immediately kills the engine. Why can't I get this to work? Is there a better way to relieve fuel pressure so I can disconnect the fuel rail and fix this thing?

Do you have a schraeder valve on the front of you passenger side fuel rail? Its a valve just like a bicycle tire has.

When you are doing stuff like this you of course need a full face shield or at a minimum safety glasses...

There's a schraeder valve on the driver's side rail. I really didn't want to do it this way and risk getting fuel everywhere, but I can I have no choice. Any tips for doing this without getting gas everywhere?

Put rags under it.
Cover whatever you are going to press it with in rags.
WEAR SAFTEY GLASSES or a face shield and some gloves.
At the very least, look away when you press it.
Open the gas cap first as it relieves some of the pressure.

FWIW it only sprays for a second or two.

Ok. I replaced the injector. The car no longer bucks at 2000 RPM's, but there is still a significant lack of power above 3000 RMP's.

Here's the strange thing: When I removed the gas cap and tried to drain the schraeder valve, there was already no pressure. I had just turned the car off and was using a fan to cool it down, and the car runs, so there is enough pressure for the car to run. But again, no gas came out of the valve, and when I popped off the fuel rail it was the same thing; no pressure. I know that the injector needed replaced because of the white powdery substance on the #3 spark plug.

I have been driving the car on a bad injector for over a week since I changed the plugs. Should I change the #3 plug again?

Also, advance gave me an injector that looks different than the others. The old ones are orange. This one is black. The part # is 800-1060N. There's a piece of paper that came with the injector that says there are different styles of injectors for this car, but they all work the same. It fit just fine when I put it in.

This wouldn't explain the lack of fuel pressure though. Do you guys think I'll need to replace the fuel filter? Fuel pump? What the hell is wrong with my car? It's really pissing me off...

Ok, I've changed the plugs, the injector, and the fuel filter. It's still lacking major power above 3000 RMP's. I'm running out of things to do. I'm going to unplug the battery tonight and reconnect it in the morning. If that doesn't do the job, I don't know what else to do. I guess I'll have no choice but to take it to the dealership...
