Hi,

I have a 1969 Mustang Coupe that I had the weatherstripping replaced in around 1996. Since that time the car has never sealed properly. I get wind noise at speeds around 40 mph and higher... before I had the weatherstripping done the car was sealed perfectly with no wind noise at any speed. I have tried adjusting the door glass and the doors themselves without being able to restore the prior good seal. The car is garage kept and driven only a couple of hundred miles a year these days so the current weatherstripping is still in like new shape.

Does anyone know of a reputable mechanic in Northern California that has the skills to adjust the doors/glass/weatherstripping to stop the wind noise? I have emailed Sacramento Mustang and American Mustang with the same question without a response from either business.

Thanks,
Chad

if it is the top weatherstrip ( roof rail ) that is leaking, you might try putting a "shim" if 1/8"x1/2" closed cell foam weatherstripping from your local home improvement store between the weatherstrip and the channel to tighten it up a bit in that area. i have heard that this works quite well, although i haven't yet tried this since i have yet to get to that stage on my car
