If you need to secure the car over night and the window regulator, bracket or support, etc. is broken, you can use a piece of wood to prop the window up until you get to the glass repair shop or dealer.

was the driver side of your car in direct sunlight for an extended period of time, if so it's just an overheated window switch relay.All u need to do is park it in a shaded area for a few hours and it will work again. I have the same problem with my 02 conv.
