I just installed the Autometer Pro comp series silver face Air/Fuel gauge on the A pillar in my '98 GT...I can't find a diagram for the O2 sensors to know which wire coming out of the O2 is the signal wire going to the computer. Does anyone happen to know which wire that is and also the black and red wires coming out of the gauge are just to a power and ground, are they supposed to be hooked up to the O2 sensor also? I have the purple wire right now hooked up to the grey wire on the driver side O2 and all it shows on the gauge is the red LED lights, the directions say that it is supposed to bounce back and fourth when cruising and idel, it barely flashes yellow when WOT...And one last question, is the guage supposed to light up completely to be able to read, not just the LED's? need help!

Don't look to that gauge for an accurate air/fuel reading.......it's nothing but a light show. You need a special wideband O2 sensor to get real readings.

Hook your A/F meter to these --> http://www.mustangtuning.com/stmilel.html and it should read OK.

I was able to use my Haynes guide to tap the right wire for my 97GT. Don't remember it off-hand, but I'll look it up tonight and let you know.

It is just a light-show, guess you just want it to show "rich" on WOT.

And then again, light-show still =

So looking at my haynes book now, thinking it was the RED/BLACK wire at the comp. That's one O2 sensor, there's 3 others you can tap into to...
